FAQs
What are the ideal buildings for this solution?
Buildings which have sufficient dead space (>10m²), latent power, three-phase power, solar and grid mix is ideal, and a need for heat.
Does hosting cost me money?
No. We pay for the servers, equipment and maintenance. The utilities we use are metered (water, power) and we pay for this.
How long does it take for me to start?
For buildings, it's typically 2-4 months, which allows for assessing the site, installing the servers, connecting the utilities etc. For homes, usually within 2-4 weeks.
Do I have to supervise or maintain Zai Node's equipment?
No. We handle all maintenance and any repairs. We monitor the equipment remotely 24/7 and complete scheduled physical maintenance.
Will it make much noise?
No. For homes, it will be nil. For buildings, depending on the volume of servers you install, there may be a low fan sound. Usually the servers are in dead space where no people often are.
Can you explain the heat reuse?
Zai Node uses a heat exchanger to capture the hot air and/or water from the servers. This is separate from your drinking water and HWS. Zai Node plumbs this heat into air, water or equipment as agreed.
What about security and data privacy?
Our computers don't store data, they process it. Data cannot be accessed or stolen from the machines. Our equipment is valuable and is securely installed, and fully insured.
What happens if my power or water stop?
We take this risk. You will not be liable to us if this occurs.
What happens if the servers aren't working?
We take this risk. You will not be liable to us if this occurs. Note that your heating will be impacted, which is why we encourage hosts not to rely solely on this heat source.
